Job summary

Buckeye Corrugated, Inc. Syracuse Division is seeking a Packaging Structural Designer to lead the design of corrugated packaging from concept to completion, collaborating with customers and sales to develop new products and adapt designs for new uses.

You will apply advanced design skills, work with tooling/vendors, travel between divisions, and ensure safe, efficient production while delivering accurate schematics and prototypes.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in packaging/structural design or related field.
• 3–5 years or more of packaging/product design experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication.
• Proven critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
• Aptitude for 3D visualization and design.
• Attention to detail with ability to switch tasks quickly.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Results-oriented team player capable of independent work.
• Mathematically inclined.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and procedures at all times.
• Develop structural designs for corrugated packaging and displays.
• Translate customer needs into drawings, designs, and prototypes.
• Collaborate with production, sales, and service teams on schematics.
• Create and ship corrugated samples for sales and customers.
