Job summary

Buckeye Corrugated, Inc. (BCI) in Syracuse seeks a Packaging Structural Designer to lead corrugated packaging design from concept to completion.

You will collaborate with customers and sales to develop new products, optimize existing lines, and produce production-ready drawings and prototypes.

This full-time, on-site role requires 3–5 years of packaging design experience and a degree in structural/packaging design or graphic design, with CAD and Adobe skills.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in structural/packaging design and/or graphic design.
• 3–5 years of packaging/product design experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety rules, policies and procedures.
• Apply advanced design skills for packaging and point-of-service displays.
• Work with vendors on tooling, ink, and design/production supplies.
• Problem-solve with departments to support manufacturing processes.
• Full-time role in an office/design department setting.
• Develop structural solutions for corrugated packaging and displays.
• Translate customer needs into drawings, designs, and prototypes.
• Create art files for printing methods and collaborate across departments.
• Assist in growing business by developing customer relationships and sales support.
