Creative & Media Workflow Project Manager – Hybrid – Washington, DC
We are seeking an experienced Creative & Media Workflow Project Manager to support a high-volume internal creative services environment. This is a 3-month contract, located in the Washington, DC area. This role is responsible for reviewing, scheduling, assigning, tracking, and trafficking creative and paid advertising requests from initial submission through final delivery.
The Project Manager will work closely with internal creative, design, media, and business teams to ensure requests are complete, resources are appropriately assigned, deadlines are realistic, and final creative assets are delivered accurately and on time.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working in a creative agency, studio, marketing department, or in-house creative team who is comfortable managing multiple projects and competing deadlines simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for incoming creative, advertising, and media requests supporting national campaigns, programs, events, and local initiatives.
- Review project requests to ensure required information, content, and assets are complete before work begins.
- Evaluate project scope, complexity, deadlines, and resource requirements.
- Work with requestors to obtain missing information, clarify project needs, recommend next steps, and negotiate timelines when necessary.
- Partner closely with the Creative Services team to monitor workload, resource availability, and project complexity and assign work accordingly.
- Review paid advertising and sponsorship requests for completeness before routing them to the appropriate media team.
- Assign, schedule, and track projects throughout the creative workflow to ensure deadlines are met.
- Manage a high volume of simultaneous projects while adjusting priorities as business needs change.
- Provide responsive customer support and troubleshoot workflow, process, and system-related issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline creative project workflows and processes.
- Traffic final creative artwork and advertising materials to media outlets and confirm assets meet required delivery specifications.
- Maintain accurate project tracking and status information.
- Perform additional project coordination duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3+ years of experience working in a studio, advertising/creative agency, marketing department, or
- in-house creative environment supporting high-volume creative development.
- Understanding of creative production processes, design complexity, project workflow, and resource management.
- Experience using project management, workflow, or creative trafficking systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently evaluate issues, identify solutions, and make decisions that keep projects moving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer/client service orientation.
- Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and work effectively with different personalities and work styles.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to quickly learn new workflow and project-tracking systems.
