Michaels in Benton Harbor, MI is seeking an energetic Events Coordinator to plan and execute store events such as kids birthday parties and craft classes, creating a fun, creative and stress-free experience for guests.

The role includes customer service at the shop floor and checkout, coordinating event logistics, engaging with customers of all ages, supporting seasonal campaigns, stock and planogram tasks, and upholding safety and cleanliness standards.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and children's events.
• Excellent people skills and communication.
• Retail or customer service experience.
• Ability to manage multiple events and planogram tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.
• Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
