Job summary

Michaels in Michigan seeks an adaptable Event Coordinator to plan and run kids’ parties, craft classes and in-store events. You’ll engage with customers of all ages, demonstrate crafts, and ensure a fun, safe and organized experience.

You’ll handle planning details, coordinate store teams, manage add-ons like goody bags and balloons, and handle inquiries, scheduling, and follow-up to guarantee high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
• Must have excellent people skills.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and perform face painting.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags or balloons.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails and phone calls.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs.
• Ensure client satisfaction and uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
