Job summary

Michaels in Richmond, VA is seeking an energetic events coordinator to plan and execute in-store events, including children’s parties, while delivering exceptional customer service. Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience required.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Excellent people skills.
• Good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication.
• Strong organizational and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
• Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with guests and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events in-store (including kids birthday parties) to create a fun, engaging guest experience.
• Assist customers, help them locate products, and provide solutions for a fast, friendly checkout.
• Enroll customers in Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards where applicable.
• Communicate event details to clients and store team members; adjust plans based on feedback.
• Handle daily store tasks: truck unloading, stocking, cleanliness, and shop recovery per SOPs.
