Michaels Stores in Cedar Hill, TX seeks an energetic Events Coordinator to plan and run in-store events including children’s parties. You will assist customers, manage checkout, and support merchandise and store recovery tasks to uphold our Brand Promises.

The role emphasizes creating fun, safe events, coordinating with clients and team members, and handling administrative tasks to ensure a smooth customer experience. Experience in retail or customer service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience required.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Excellent people skills.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs.
