Job summary

The Michaels Companies is seeking an Events Coordinator for our Gilford store. Plan, coordinate and execute in-store events including children’s birthday parties and craft classes, ensuring a fun, creative and engaging guest experience.

You will engage participants of all ages, demonstrate crafts, and manage event logistics from setup to breakdown. Ideal candidates bring energy, excellent people skills, and experience in retail or customer service, with strong communication and organizational

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and kids' events preferred.
• Strong written, verbal and nonverbal communication and listening skills.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Retail or customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events at the Michaels store, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with customers of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Instruct participants in craft projects and assist with party add-ons (balloons, goody bags, etc.).
• Communicate event details with clients and store staff; manage emails and calls as needed.
• Maintain store cleanliness, safety standards, and SOP compliance; assist with stock and POS duties as needed.
