Job summary

Michaels in Annapolis, MD is seeking an energetic Events Coordinator to plan and execute in-store events, including children's birthday parties and craft classes.

You will greet customers, help them shop, guide activities, and manage logistics from setup to break down, while delivering fast, friendly checkout and maintaining store standards. prior experience in retail or event coordination is a plus, as is comfort with face painting and customer engagement.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience required
• Experience working with children and children’s events desired
• Effective communication with guests and team members required
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities required

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events
• Engage with clients of all ages, creating an environment of fun and creativity
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in crafts; face painting and activities
• Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards
• Communicate events with clients and store team members
• Complete administrative tasks such as emails, phone calls, and paperwork
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and create backup plans
• Ensure client satisfaction and uphold cleanliness and safety standards
• Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production
• Daily store cleanliness activities and related duties
