Job summary

General Motors is seeking a creative design intern to help launch bold design initiatives for interiors and exteriors. You will generate new concepts, produce perspective sketches and renderings, and develop 2D and 3D mock-ups while collaborating with engineers, modelers, and fabrication teams.

Applicants must be enrolled in Industrial Design or related fields and graduate between 2027 and 2029, available to work full-time over the summer, and submit a portfolio for consideration.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Transportation Design, or Automotive Design.
• Must be graduating between December 2027 and May 2029.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the summer months.

Responsibilities

• Create new and unique design concepts.
• Make perspective sketches and renderings communicating ideas.
• Develop rapid two- and three-dimensional mock-ups.
• Collaborate with studio engineers, modelers, designers, and fabrication staff to build scale models.
