Job summary

General Motors invites rising designers to a 2027 Summer Internship in clay sculpting. You will collaborate with GM Design, Sculpting and Engineering to translate sketches into clay scale models for a future automotive theme, using established and emerging sculpting methods.

Applicants must be pursuing a degree in Industrial or Transportation Design or related fields, graduating between Dec 2027 and May 2029, and available full-time over the summer.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in design/arts.
• Graduating between Dec 2027 and May 2029.
• Availability for full-time, 40 hours per week during summer.

Responsibilities

• Interpret sketches with Design, Sculpting and Engineering to develop clay scale models.
• Present finished models to Design and Sculpting leadership at midterm and final shows.
• Support general sculpting assignments within the studio environment.
