Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items with artistic flair while upholding quality standards. You will support our core values, assist team members, and ensure food safety compliance in a fast-paced bakery setting.

Responsibilities include decorating, production planning, customer service, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment with opening/closing duties as needed.

Qualifications

• 6-12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete Bakery Decorator Apprentice training or equivalent.
• Prior bakery or grocery retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special orders.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures and record production.
• Prioritize production lists, adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in the display case and ensure freshness.
• Provide guidance to Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members.
• Create special-order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and operate phones promptly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area and follow safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties and manage signage/pricing.
