Job summary

PACS is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in delivering a creative and interactive activities program for residents. This role follows applicable standards to meet residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial needs.

You will assist in planning and conducting activities, coordinating with staff, families, and external agencies, and helping maintain the monthly calendar and attendance records, while ensuring a safe and engaging environment.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience in a long-term care facility preferred.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to present information clearly to managers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct individual, small and group activities.
• Assist in communication between employees, residents, families, support personnel, government agencies, and the public.
• Develop monthly activity calendar and maintain attendance records.
• Assist with discharge planning and activity care plans as requested by the Activity Director.
• Arrange transportation for residents for outings and appointments.
