Job summary

thyssenkrupp is seeking an Inventory Clerk to accurately provide inventory information for company controlled material stock at multiple branch locations. The role involves receiving shipments, coordinating material movement, and maintaining data in the inventory system.

The position is on the warehouse floor working with heavy machinery. Must have a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 40 lbs, basic math and data entry skills, and forklift or related equipment certification.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and write English and perform basic math.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry into inventory management system.
  • Ability to use tape measure and calipers for material inspection/measurement.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in written work and data entry.
  • Able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 40 lbs. with or without accommodation.
  • Certification to operate material handling equipment (forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, cherry-picker).

Responsibilities

  • Complete material receiving activities for shipments between locations or direct from the mill.
  • Coordinate movement of material from stock to processing to support production requirements.
  • Operate material handling equipment as necessary to support movement of material.
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry within the inventory management system regarding material movements.
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate inventory identification tags.
  • Complete material consolidation tasks, including supermarket.
  • Identify material shortages and issues, and communicate to appropriate staff.
  • Perform verification of scrap.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
  • Assist quality assurance team in activities related to credits.
  • Perform equipment preventative maintenance and clean up.
  • Participate, support, and comply with health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives.
  • This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.

Job Summary

Key Accountabilities

Shift Times


  • 1st shift: 6am-2pm

  • 2nd shift: 2pm-10pm

  • 3rd shift: 10pm-6am



Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

  • Ability to read and write English and perform basic math problems

  • Basic computer skills for data entry into inventory management system

  • Ability to use tape measure and calipers for material inspection/measurement

  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in written work and data entry

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 40 lbs. with or without accommodation

  • Certification to operate material handling equipment, examples include forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, or cherry-picker


Preferred requirements:



  • Some college course work, leading toward completion of degree

  • 3 years of material control or inventory experience

  • Previous experience safely operating a variety of material handling equipment (forklift, side-loader, etc.)
