Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA is seeking a delivery driver to provide timely product deliveries to customers while upholding a positive company image. The role requires CDL A, ability to lift, and strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities include loading verification, pre/post-delivery inspections, and delivering paperwork and products with courtesy. Use RF gun, operate forklifts, and assist in yard duties as needed.

Qualifications

Job Description
Key Accountabilities
  • Radio Frequency Gun usage
  • Verify that correct items are loaded on the truck for delivery.
  • Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure.
  • Assist in loading and unloading of trucks. Ensure truck is properly secured and not overweight.
  • Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements.
  • Deliver product and proper paperwork to our customers in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of truck is cleaned up.
  • Maintain trucks overall service and perform required inspections.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.
  • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Collect any COD money owed and ensure that money is given to the proper personnel upon return to the plant.
  • Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems on returned proof of delivery sheets (load sheet)
  • Assist in activities related to lean and/or quality.
  • Train others when required.
  • This position requires a commercial driver’s license (CDL).

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Applicable motor vehicle licensing for CDL class A
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a continuous basis

Preferred Requirements
  • 3-5 years driving experience

Pay Range: $30-$31/hr.

  • Holiday Pay: For a 5-day 8-hour shift you will receive up to 88 hours of holiday pay, for a 4-day 10-hour shift, you will receive up to 80 hours of holiday pay, and for a 3-day 12-hour shift you will receive up to 72 hours of holiday pay depending on the date of hire and the holiday schedule posted as it changes yearly.
