Job summary

The Manitowoc Company is seeking MGX Shop Crane Technicians for the Ankeny, IA branch to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain mobile cranes and boom trucks. This full-time role reports to the Service Manager and offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus after 90 days and a tool reimbursement program up to $1,500 per calendar year.

Responsibilities include thorough inspections, diagnosing defects, repairing hydraulic and electrical components, and ensuring OEM specifications are met.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 2+ years as mechanic/technician.
• Experience with Grove RT/TMS cranes and Manitowoc EPIC/traditional cranes preferred.
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Excellent communication and customer focus.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Own hand tools up to 1.5 inches.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform thorough inspection of cranes to diagnose defects.
• Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes; repair hydraulic/electrical components.
• Read and interpret operating manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
• Test mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic systems post-repair to OEM specs.
• Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy.
• Conduct thorough annual inspections.
• Fill out reports, hours, time sheets and expense sheets.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.
