Job summary

MGX Equipment Services in Nashville, TN is seeking a Shop Crane Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain mobile cranes and boom trucks, ensuring compliance with OEM specifications and safety standards. The role reports to the Service Manager.

Candidates may receive a $2,500 sign-on bonus after 90 days of continuous service and are eligible for a Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two years of experience as Mechanic/Technician.
• Experience working with mobile crane equipment including Grove RT & TMS Cranes, Grove GMK European Cranes, Manitowoc EPIC or Traditional Cranes, National Boom Trucks preferred.
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer focus.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Must purchase a full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform thorough inspection of cranes to diagnose defects.
• Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes; repair hydraulic and electrical components.
• Inspect parts for damage or wear using micrometers and gauges; read manuals, blueprints and drawings.
• Test mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic systems after repair to ensure OEM specs.
• Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy.
• Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
• Complete working reports, hours reports, time sheets and expense reports.
• Work independently without direct supervision.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.
