Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions is seeking a Sales Estimator in Chantilly, VA to sell crane and rigging services to industrial clients. You will draft proposals, price projects, and determine required materials, equipment and labor to meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities include lead management, bid coordination, data organization, and collaboration with sales and operations. Local travel is required, and a strong understanding of MS Office and Salesforce is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in estimating, preferably in rigging, crating, logistics, construction, or industrial services.
• Experience in fast-paced construction environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; advanced Excel and data entry skills.
• Good understanding of customer or MEI specific software; knowledge of Salesforce preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Must have excellent organization skills; be detail oriented.
• Self-directed and motivated with good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Professional appearance and attitude; customer-focused demeanor.
• Comfortable with cold-calling techniques; good closing skills.

Responsibilities

• Actively contact leads and manage prospect lists.
• Develop relationships with customers and build recurring business.
• Coordinate job walks and assist with bids/estimates to price projects.
• Maintain historical records by data on market/target areas and customers.
• Develop relationships with customers, partners, operations, and support staff.
• Organize and manage projects and data to ensure accurate work orders.
• Stay informed of industry trends and target market changes.
• Monitor competition by gathering pricing, products, suppliers, and delivery information.
• Assist in resolving customer complaints and provide ongoing support.
• Participate in sales meetings; assist with collections as needed.
• Local travel required.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
