Job summary

Joyce Steel Erection, Ltd. is seeking a crane operator to perform crane operations under supervision at various job sites in the United States.

The role requires inspecting equipment and lifting devices, conducting routine maintenance, and directing truck drivers and helpers during assembly and crane setup. You must hold a Class A CDL and NCCCO crane operator certification, with strong communication skills and the ability to mentor other operators.

Qualifications

• Minimum Class A CDL required and NCCCO Crane Operator Certification.
• Proficient in oral and written communication.
• Ability to mentor crane operators and helpers.

Responsibilities

• Operate crane under supervision and with full control.
• Inspect crane and below-the-hook lifting devices for safety.
• Perform routine maintenance and carry tools for repairs.
• Coordinate with drivers and helpers during assembly and setup.
• Travel the crane to and from job sites and follow safety policies.
• Maintain logbooks and hours, and follow OSHA/ANSI standards.
• Complete daily and monthly equipment inspections and safety checks.

• OPERATING CRANE UNDER COMPLETE CONTROL
• OPERATING CRANE UNDER SUPERVISION
• INSPECTING THE CRANE AND ALL OF ITS COMPONENTS AND BELOW THE HOOK LIFITING DEVICES ROUTINELY AND PERIODICLY TO ENSURE ITS SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF ALL INVOLVDED.
• PERFORMING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
• CARRYING TOOLS FOR PERFORMING REPAIRS AS NEEDED
• UNDERSTANDING AND EXECUTING THE JOB BILLING PROCESS
• TRAVELLING THE CRANE TO AND FROM JOB SITES.
• WEARING REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT WHILE PERFORMING WORK.
• CLEANING AND MAINTAINING THE CRANE AND ALL COMPONENTS
• UTILIZING MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDATIONS DURING ASSEMBLY/DISASSEMBLY WHILE ERECTING CRANE, AND WHILE OPERATING THE CRANE IN ALL CONFIGURATIONS
• DIRECTING TRUCK DRIVERS AND CRANE HELPERS DURING THE PROCESS OF ASSEMBLY/DISASSEMBLY, CRANE SET UP, AND SCOPE OF WORK.
• MENTOR OTHER CRANE OPERATORS, CRANE HELPERS, ETC.
• MINIMUM CLASS A CDL DRIVERS LICENSE AND MAINTAIN IT
• MUST POSSESS A N.C.C.C.O. CRANE OPERATOR CERTIFICATION CARD FOR SIZE AND TYPE OF CRANE OPERATING.
• MUST POSSESS CRANE OPERATOR QUALIFICATION EVALUATIONS ON ALL TYPES OF SIZE AND TYPE OF CRANES OPERATING.
• MUST HAVE NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE OF OSHA REGULATIONS, AND ANSI STANDARDS ASSOCIATED WITH CRANE AND RIGGING SERVICES
• MUST BE PROFICIENT IN ORAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS
• HAVE PASSED AND PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREEN, DOT PHYSICAL, AND 7 YEAR BACKGROUND CHECK.
• MUST BE ABLE TO TAKE DIRECTION(S) FROM SUPERVISION.
• MUST BE ABLE TO MENTOR OTHER CRANE OPERATORS, CRANE HELPERS, ETC.
• MUST PERFORM DAILY AND MONTHLY EQUIPMENT INSPECTIONS
• MUST FOLLOW ALL SAFETY AND COMPANY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AS WELL AS THAT OF CUSTOMERS.
• HAVE A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD
• BE ABLE TO DRIVE HAUL TRUCK AND DELIVER LOADS
• MAINTAIN LOGBOOK AND HOURS
