Job summary

Central Stone Company in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator at our Jefferson Barracks location. This is a full-time, hourly role that involves operating large quarry machinery, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring equipment safety and reliability.

The position supports a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional Saturdays depending on the season. Pre-employment physicals, drug screens, and background checks are required; Central Stone Company is an EEO/AA employer

Qualifications

Safety-focused and able to follow MSHA rules and company procedures.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose basic equipment issues.
Experience operating cranes and heavy quarry equipment in challenging conditions.
Must perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Follow safety and environmental rules as set by company policies and MSHA.
Operate quarry equipment including front end loaders, excavators, skid steers, and more; perform maintenance on equipment.
Conduct preventive maintenance and pre-shift inspections; repair/clean equipment as needed.
Communicate with plant management on safety, maintenance, and production needs.
Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
