Job summary

Central Stone Company in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator at our Jefferson Barracks location. This is a full-time, hourly role that involves operating large quarry machinery, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring equipment safety and reliability.

The position supports a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional Saturdays depending on the season. Pre-employment physicals, drug screens, and background checks are required; Central Stone Company is an EEO/AA employer

Qualifications

• Safety-focused and able to follow MSHA rules and company procedures.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose basic equipment issues.
• Experience operating cranes and heavy quarry equipment in challenging conditions.
• Must perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and environmental rules as set by company policies and MSHA.
• Operate quarry equipment including front end loaders, excavators, skid steers, and more; perform maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and pre-shift inspections; repair/clean equipment as needed.
• Communicate with plant management on safety, maintenance, and production needs.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Central Stone has an immediate opening for a Heavy Equipment Operator position at our Jefferson Barracks location, in St. Louis , MO. This is a full-time, hourly position with the local Operators 513, working day hours, Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturdays depending on the season.

Major Heavy Equipment Operator responsibilities include:

• Follow all safety and environmental rules, regulations and procedures as set forth by company policies and MSHA
• Operating various quarry equipment including front end loaders, excavators, skid steers, and more. Performing maintenance on similar equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and pre-shift inspections; repair and/or clean equipment as needed
• Communicate with plant management team on all safety, maintenance, and production needs
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor
