Job summary

Maxim Crane is seeking a skilled Crane Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair crane systems across our fleet, including booms, engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. The role requires reading blueprints, precise mechanical work, and safe operation of hoists and lifting equipment.

Applicants should have 5+ years of crane-related mechanical experience, plus 3+ years on diesel, gasoline, and propane engines, and be able to pass a drug test and background checks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• 5+ years of mechanical experience, crane-related required.
• 3+ years on diesel, gasoline, and propane engines.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on crane systems and diesel engines.
• Operate hoists, forklifts, and hand trucks to move heavy equipment.
• Inspect machines to diagnose defects and determine repairs.
• Test equipment after repair to ensure OEM specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance.
• Fabricate, modify, and install replacement parts with specialty tools.
• Examine parts for wear using micrometers and gauges.
• Repair electrical systems and damaged components.
• Work as assigned and maintain safety standards.
