Job summary

Maxim Crane Works is seeking a skilled crane mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair heavy equipment across our fleet. You will work on diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems and read blueprints to guide repairs.

Strong diagnostic ability and tool experience are essential while adhering to safety standards. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years crane experience, and CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.
• 5+ years of crane-related mechanical experience.
• 3+ years with diesel, gasoline, and propane engines.
• CDL preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, booms, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Operate hoists, forklifts, and hand trucks to handle and assemble heavy equipment.
• Inspect machines to diagnose faults and determine repairs.
• Test equipment after repair to ensure proper performance and OEM specification conformance.
• Read operating manuals, blueprints and drawings for proper assembly and repair.
• Fabricate, modify, and install replacement parts using specialty tools.
• Examine parts for damage or wear using micrometers and gauges.
• Repair and rewire electrical systems and components.
• Adhere to safety procedures; pass drug test and background check.
