Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Crane Field Service Technician/Mechanic to operate a mobile service vehicle, travel to customer sites, and perform in-field repairs on heavy equipment brands in the central United States.

You will diagnose issues, order parts, write technical reports, and ensure safe, efficient repairs while maintaining company assets. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, English proficiency, and at least 2 years of field experience; a CDL may be

Qualifications

• Two years of continuous experience diagnosing and repairing construction equipment.
• Ability to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Furnish and maintain a set of hand tools and any special tools required by the company.
• Ability to work overtime, stay overnight, and work on weekends when needed.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; CDL if required.

Responsibilities

• Performs field repairs and maintenance with little or no direct supervision.
• Diagnoses and evaluates problems with equipment and makes repairs using established guidelines.
• Plans methods and sequence of performing assigned repairs.
• Maintains the service truck in good working condition and cleanliness.
• Completes daily, monthly, and annual safety inspections and paperwork.
