Kirby Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Crane Field Service Technician/Mechanic to operate a mobile service vehicle, diagnose issues, order parts, and perform in-field repairs on various brands of heavy equipment at customer sites.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and professional communication with customers and team members. Applicants should have 2+ years of experience diagnosing and repairing construction equipment, read hydraulic and electrical schematics, and be willing to

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Ability to speak, read and write in English.
• Two (2) years of continuous experience in diagnosing and repairing construction equipment.
• Ability to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Furnish and maintain a set of hand tools and any special tools required by the company.
• Ability to work overtime, stay overnight and work on the weekend when needed.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; CDL if required.

Responsibilities

• Operates a mobile service vehicle and travels to customer locations for in-field repairs on heavy equipment.
• Diagnoses and evaluates problems with equipment and performs repairs using established guidelines.
• Plans methods and sequence of performing assigned repairs and maintains safety.
• Keeps rework within established guidelines and completes required paperwork promptly.
• Attends factory training as specified by supervisor and maintains service truck in good condition.
• Ensures reliable on-site attendance and professional customer relations.
