Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Crane Field Service Technician/Mechanic to perform in-field repairs on heavy equipment at customer locations.

The role requires diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, and maintaining company assets, with union contract compliance under Local 513. Typical duties include safe repair practices, training attendance, and supporting customers while ensuring high-quality service and on-site reliability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Must furnish and maintain a set of hand tools.
• Ability to work overtime and stay overnight when needed.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field repairs and maintenance with limited supervision.
• Diagnose and evaluate equipment problems and perform repairs to guidelines.
• Plan the method and sequence of assigned repairs.
• Attend factory and other trainings as directed by supervisor.
• Maintain service truck and complete safety inspections.
