Job summary

Kirby Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Crane Field Service Technician/Mechanic to operate a mobile service vehicle and travel to customer sites for in-field repairs on heavy equipment.

You will diagnose issues, order parts, document findings, and communicate professionally with customers and team members. The role requires hands-on repair skills, the ability to read complex schematics, and a commitment to safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience diagnosing and repairing construction equipment.
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Valid driver’s license, CDL if required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates Kirby Smith vision and core values to customers and team.
• Performs field repairs and maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Diagnoses equipment problems and performs repairs per guidelines and flat rates.
• Plans methods and sequence of repairs.
• Maintains safety and professional conduct on site.
• Keeps service truck clean and in good condition.
• Completes daily paperwork promptly.
• Attends training as specified by supervisor.
• Ensures reliable on-site attendance.
