Job summary

Michaels is seeking an enthusiastic Events Coordinator to plan and execute in-store events and children’s parties at the Grand Rapids-Walker location. You will engage guests, guide Craft activities, and support checkout and store operations to ensure a fun, stress-free experience.

Ideal candidates have retail or customer service experience, excellent people skills, and the ability to handle multiple events and customers with a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience required.
• Must have excellent people skills.
• Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events in-store, including children’s parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects and activities.
• Coordinate event add-ons (balloons, goody bags) to company standards and communicate with store team.
• Handle administrative tasks like emails, calls, and paperwork; adjust plans per client feedback.
