Job summary

Michaels in Grand Rapids/Walker, MI is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and run in-store events, including kids birthday parties, craft classes and add-ons. You will assist customers, drive a fast and friendly checkout, and ensure a safe, engaging environment while delivering our brand promises.

The role requires strong people skills, experience with children’s events, and retail or customer service background, with responsibilities spanning event logistics and customer engagement.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent people skills, including written, verbal and nonverbal communication.
• Experience working with children and children’s events is required.
• Retail or customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events within the Michaels store, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Assist customers, help locate products and provide solutions for a fast, friendly checkout experience.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, engaging environment while adhering to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; handle administrative tasks like emails and calls.
• Support stock, planograms, store recovery, and safety procedures as part of event operations.
