Job summary

Michaels is seeking an Events Coordinator to plan and run in-store events, including children’s birthday parties, at our Bloomington store. You will deliver friendly customer service, help shoppers, and support checkout processes while maintaining store standards and safety.

The role requires energy, excellent communication, and experience with kids’ events. You will collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive guest experience in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience required.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Excellent people skills and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events such as children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants; perform face painting and activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; complete administrative tasks.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback; create backup or emergency plans.
• Ensure client satisfaction and uphold store cleanliness and safety.
