Job summary

Michaels Stores is seeking an energetic events coordinator for our Pottsville store in PA to plan and run in-store parties and craft events. You will engage guests of all ages, deliver a friendly checkout experience, and support store operations while ensuring safety and cleanliness.

The role emphasizes strong communication, organization, and the ability to adapt plans based on client feedback. Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred, with a focus on fun, welcoming environments.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and coordinating events, including children’s parties.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to interact with customers of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add‑ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.
• Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards.
