Job summary

Michaels Stores is seeking an Event Coordinator for in-store activities and children's events. You will plan, coordinate, and facilitate parties and craft classes, ensuring a fun, safe experience for guests while delivering friendly customer service.

You will assist with checkouts, stock and store recovery tasks, and communicate plans with clients and team members. Prior experience in retail or customer service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience required.
• Must have excellent people skills.
• Must have experience working with children and children's events.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Energetic and enthusiastic personality.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests.
• Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop and find what they need.
• Ensure fast and friendly checkout experience and complete operational tasks as needed.
• Plan and coordinate multiple events including children's birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects, face painting, and other activities.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members and handle paperwork as needed.
• Maintain store cleanliness, safety standards, and adherence to SOPs.
