Job summary

Michaels in Strongsville, OH is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and run children\'s birthday parties and in-store events. You will assist customers, manage checkouts, and ensure a fun, safe, and organized experience during events.

Responsibilities include coordinating multiple events, educating participants, handling administrative tasks, and promoting store flexibility to meet client needs.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with children and children's events.
• Must have excellent people skills.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans and events based on client's feedback and needs.
• Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Uphold the company's cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
• Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
• Participate in daily store cleanliness activities including (but not limited to) sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms
