Job summary

The Michaels in Toledo North, OH is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and facilitate store events, including children’s birthday parties, to provide a stress-free, engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop and ensuring a fast, friendly checkout.

You will manage truck unloads, merch duties, and store recovery standards while engaging with guests of all ages, teaching crafts, and coordinating add-ons like goody bags and balloons.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience is required.
• Experience working with children and children’s events.
• Excellent people skills.
• Strong written, verbal and nonverbal communication abilities.
• Must have organizational skills and creative problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects; perform face painting and activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; complete administrative tasks as needed.
• Assist customers with shopping, locate products, and provide solutions; ensure fast checkout.
