Job summary

Michaels in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking staff to plan and coordinate events (including kids parties) within the store and to deliver friendly customer service. You will help customers shop, check out quickly, and support store operations while promoting rewards programs and private label credit cards.

The role involves engaging with guests of all ages, coordinating crafts, and maintaining store standards, safety, and cleanliness. Evening and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent people skills.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Must have organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once (including children’s birthday parties and other crafts/classes).
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects; perform face painting and activities.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; handle emails and calls.
• Assist with checkout and customer service; enroll in Rewards and Private Label Credit Cards.
• Support store cleanliness, stocking, and SOP compliance.
• Participate in daily store cleanliness and safety initiatives.
