Job summary

The Michaels Companies Mt. Pleasant store in South Carolina is seeking a Part-time Retail - Part & Event Host to plan and coordinate events such as children’s birthday parties and craft classes, engage customers, and deliver a fast, friendly checkout experience.

You will demonstrate crafts, assist with party add-ons, and communicate effectively with clients and team members while upholding store standards and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent people skills.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Must have organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events at the Michaels store, including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative in-store experience.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects; perform face painting and other activities.
• Coordinate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; handle administrative tasks (emails, calls, paperwork).
• Ensure client satisfaction and maintain store cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down, and clean after events.
