Job summary

Cumberland County is seeking a Supervisor for the Child Protective Service Intake unit. The role ensures adherence to statutes and policies, coordinates with related intake functions, and manages staff scheduling and reporting.

The incumbent will handle inter-state agency inquiries and may provide back-up to the Extended Duty Supervisor. A strong background in Child Protective Services intake and investigation is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training.
• Extensive knowledge of social work principles, techniques, practices, and their application.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies governing social work programs.
• Ability to supervise, train, or orient lower-level social workers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Child Protective Service Intake unit to ensure compliance with statutory and policy requirements.
• Coordinate intake activities with other intake functions within the section.
• Prepare schedules for emergency coverage and dictation, and monthly intake data reports.
• Answer calls from social service agencies in other states regarding pending cases.
• Provide back-up support to the Extended Duty Supervisor when needed.
