Job summary

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in Maine is seeking an administrative professional to support child welfare services in Portland. Primary duties include supervising visits between children and their parents, transporting clients, and making referrals to link families with needed services.

This role requires strong interpersonal, organizational and computer skills, plus the ability to travel within the local district and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience in office and client support with proficient policy understanding and judgment.
• Valid Class C Maine Driver's License.
• Preferred: experience with children and families in social services; proficient MS Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Supervise visits between children and their parents, sit with children in hotel and hospital placement, and transport clients for various visits and appointments.
• Make referrals to connect children, parents, and family members with needed services.
• Enter documentation into the Child Welfare information system, Katahdin.
• Maintain legal records and serve court paperwork.
