Job summary

The Office of Child and Family Services within the Department of Health and Human Services is recruiting a Child Protective Services Caseworker to protect Maine children through professional case management and investigative work.

As a CPS Caseworker you will engage families, assess safety, and collaborate with judicial, law enforcement, educational, and social services partners to assure child safety and permanency while maintaining detailed case records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field with at least 12 courses in behavioral/social sciences.
• Must have or be eligible for licensure as Licensed Social Worker (LSW).
• LSW-Conditional requires BA/BS in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional social work in child protection, child services, and adoption.
• Engage families to assess safety and plan for well-being and permanency.
• Create a team of family, staff, and community resources for safe solutions.
• Maintain accurate case records and follow federal/state laws and timeframes.
