Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field with 12 courses in behavioral/social sciences; eligible for LSW licensure.
• LSW licensure eligibility required by Maine Board of Social Worker Licensure.
• Chapter 10 related fields may be considered on an individual basis.

Aufgaben

• Perform professional social work in child protection, children's services, and adoption.
• Engage families to assess child safety and plan for safety, well-being and permanency.
• Create a team for each family with resources to support safe solutions.
• Reach safety decisions with input from families and stakeholders to assure child safety.
• Assess child safety, abuse, neglect, and family functioning.
• Separate unsafe caregivers from children when court action is needed to protect them.
• Plan for children's safety, family preservation or permanent placement.
• Maintain accurate case records, reports, and correspondence.
• Follow federal/state laws, mandates, and timelines to achieve safety and permanency.
• Perform case planning and petition for protective custody when needed.
