Job summary

Code Metal, Inc. is seeking a Controller to lead our Finance function in a fast-growing, tech-driven environment. You will own GAAP compliance, the close, and financial reporting for multiple entities, including government contracts, with revenue recognition under ASC 606.

You will drive government contract accounting, pricing support, and audit readiness while building scalable policies, controls, and a high-performing team. Hybrid or remote work options available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with controller- or assistant controller-level ownership.
• Hands-on government contract accounting experience (DCAA, FAR Part 31, indirect rates, incurred cost submissions) preferred.
• Experience leading external audits and building close processes and controls from early stage.
• Knowledge of ASC 606 for software and multi-element arrangements; M&A integration a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for all entities, including consolidation and inter-company.
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reporting packages for leadership and the board.
• Own revenue recognition under ASC 606 across software, services, and government contracts (FFP, T&M, cost-type).
• Maintain accounting policies and internal controls that scale with the business.
• Lead the annual external audit and serve as primary point of contact for auditors.
• Oversee cash operations, AP/AR, payroll, and treasury policy compliance.
• Build and lead the accounting team and transition acquired-entity accounting onto a unified platform.
