Job summary

Code Metal, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Controller to build and scale our core Finance team in the United States. You will own the accuracy and compliance of financial operations across commercial and government contracts, starting in the general ledger and driving close processes.

You will implement policies, controls, and ERP systems, prepare GAAP-compliant statements, support audits and pricing, and partner with contracts, people ops, and leadership as we grow.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with controller- or assistant controller-level ownership.
• CPA required.
• Hands-on experience with government contract accounting (DCAA, FAR Part 31), indirect rates, and incurred cost submissions preferred.
• Experience leading external audits and building close processes and controls from an early stage.
• Knowledge of ASC 606 for software and multi-element arrangements; M&A integration a plus.
• Comfort working hands-on in a fast-moving environment while scaling the team.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for all entities, including consolidation and inter-company.
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reporting packages for leadership and the board.
• Own revenue recognition under ASC 606 across software, services, and government contracts (FFP, T&M, cost-type).
• Maintain accounting policies and internal controls that scale with the business; lead the annual external audit.
• Lead the evaluation and implementation of accounting/ERP systems for commercial and government contracting needs.
• Build and lead the accounting team as the company scales.
