Job summary

The Circuit Court for Prince George's County is seeking a Court Bailiff for a 1000-hour temporary assignment. Under the supervision of the Chief Bailiff and Deputy Bailiff, you will help maintain courtroom decorum and assist with juror movement throughout the courthouse.

Responsibilities include opening court, informing the Judge that court is ready, escorting jurors, taking roll, and ensuring supply levels.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required with at least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to read, comprehend and relay protocols and instructions.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Opens the courtroom.
• Informs the Judge when Court is ready to begin.
• Maintains order, decorum, and dignity in the courtroom.
• Escorts Jurors between the Jury Lounge and multiple courtrooms.
• Calls parties, collects case files, and keeps courtrooms stocked with supplies.
• Ensures jury deliberation rooms are stocked with supplies.
• Completes standard courtroom checklists.
• Performs other tasks as assigned and required.
