Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Perry County Child Welfare Services seeks a County Caseworker 2 to protect children and support families. You will complete intake planning, assess risk, investigate reports, and help families build safe, stable environments.

This full-time role includes monthly home visits, placement oversight, on-call rotations, and detailed record management. Core training and certification are preferred; telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1 or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree with a social welfare major, or 12 credits in related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences

Responsibilities

• Intake planning and risk assessment using approved models
• Child safety: investigate reports of mistreatment and ensure child safety
• Family support: conduct monthly home visits and develop family service plans
• Placement oversight: carry out out-of-home placement duties including monthly visits
• Record management: maintain accurate and detailed family files
• On-call: participate in the twenty four hour on-call rotation
