Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a County Caseworker 2 in Perry County to protect children and strengthen families. The role involves social and case management, safety assessments, and collaboration with a team dedicated to community well-being.

You will complete intake planning, conduct monthly visits, and oversee placements while maintaining detailed records and responding to on-call duties. Telework is not offered; position requires residency in PA and background clearances.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or
• Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
• A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or
• A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Responsibilities

• Intake Planning: Complete intake documentation and assess risk using approved models
• Child Safety: Investigate reports of mistreatment and take steps to ensure the safety of children
• Family Support: Conduct monthly home visits and develop family service plans
• Placement Oversight: Carry out out of home placement duties including monthly visits and family contact
• Record Management: Maintain accurate and detailed family files
• On Call Response: Participate in the twenty four hour on call rotation

Education

Bachelor's degree in social welfare major

Bachelor's degree with 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice or related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience

Any equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 college credits in related social sciences
