Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a County Caseworker 2 in Perry County Child Welfare Services to support children, youth, and families through intake planning, safety assessment, and family services. You will work with a team prioritizing compassion, teamwork, and growth to strengthen communities.

The role involves conducting home visits, ensuring child safety, maintaining files, and participating in a 24-hour on-call rotation. A core training series and caseworker certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or
• Completion of County Social Casework Intern program; or
• Bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or
• Bachelor's degree with 12 college credits in sociology/social welfare/psychology and one year of professional social casework; or
• Any equivalent combination including 12 college credits in related social sciences.

Responsibilities

• Intake planning: complete intake documentation and assess risk using approved models
• Child safety: investigate reports of mistreatment and ensure safety of children
• Family support: conduct monthly home visits and develop family service plans
• Placement oversight: perform out-of-home placement duties including monthly visits and family contact
• Record management: maintain accurate and detailed family files
• On call: participate in the 24-hour on-call rotation

Education

Bachelor's degree with social welfare major

Bachelor's degree + 12 college credits in sociology/social sciences with 1 year of experience

Any equivalent combination of experience and training with 12 social science credits
