Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a County Caseworker 1 for Perry County Child Welfare to help protect children and support families toward safety and stability. You will handle intake, investigations, home visits, documentation, and case management under supervision.

Responsibilities include planning intakes, conducting child safety investigations, monthly family visits, and maintaining accurate records, with on-call duties and a 8:00 AM–4:00 PM schedule on weekdays.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as County Social Services Aide 3 or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree with 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training plus one year of paraprofessional case management experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete intake documentation and assess risk using approved guidelines.
• Investigate reports of mistreatment and ensure child protection.
• Conduct monthly home visits and develop family service plans.
• Carry out placement duties including visits and family contact.
• Maintain accurate and detailed family files.
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation.
