Job summary

A County Caseworker 1 with Perry County Child Welfare will play a key part in improving the lives of children and families, guiding them toward stability and safety through meaningful daily action. This role focuses on social and case management services: intakes, investigations, home visits, documentation, and related tasks to ensure proper care.

Work is full‑time from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 1‑hour lunch; a 24‑hour on‑call rotation is required.

Qualifications

• Two years experience in county social services or related paraprofessional role.
• Bachelor’s degree with 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related Social Sciences.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training plus one year in a paraprofessional role may meet requirements.

Responsibilities

• Intake planning and risk assessment.
• Investigate reports of mistreatment and ensure child safety.
• Conduct monthly home visits and develop family service plans.
• Perform duties for out-of-home placement including visits and family contact.
• Maintain accurate and detailed family files.
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation.
