Porter Pipe & Supply Company in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Counter Sales Representative to provide excellent customer service at the Will Call counter. You will use your PVF knowledge to assist contractors, handle sales at the counter, and contribute to warehouse operations.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of PVF distribution experience preferred. Familiarity with SX Enterprise is a plus, with opportunities for growth and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of PVF products (pipes, valves, fittings) and ability to build rapport with customers.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic math and cash handling proficiency with POS experience.

Responsabilités

• Make product recommendations and assist customers with PVF products.
• Handle cash, check, and credit card sales using POS system.
• Prepare routine reports and file sales records.
• Operate dolly, pallet jack, forklift, and shrink wrap machine as needed.
• Assist in warehouse duties, loading and packing customer vehicles.
• Follow departmental policies, procedures, and continuous quality improvement objectives.
• Operate fabrication equipment as required.
• Adhere to all company safety rules and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a member of our Counter Sales Representative team, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing excellent customer service at our Will Call counter while utilizing your knowledge of pipes, valves, and fittings to assist mechanical and plumbing contractors.

• Strong knowledge of pipes, valves, and fittings

• Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities

What You’ll Bring:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 3 years of PVF distribution experience preferred
• Previous SX Enterprise experience preferred but not required
• Point-of-sale computer experience preferred but not required
• Prior forklift experience preferred but not required

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
