Job summary

Porter Pipe & Supply in Indianapolis, IN is hiring a Counter Sales Representative to join our PVF team. You’ll assist mechanical and plumbing contractors at the Will Call counter, provide product recommendations, process sales, and help maintain accurate records.

We value strong knowledge of pipes, valves and fittings, solid organizational skills, and a customer-focused attitude. Prior PVF distribution experience and basic warehouse duties are a plus; high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Make product recommendations and assist customers with PVF products.
• Handle cash, check, and credit card sales using POS systems.
• Prepare routine reports and file sales records.
• Operate dolly, pallet jack, forklift, and shrink wrap machine as needed.
• Assist in warehouse duties, loading and packing customer vehicles.
• Follow departmental policies and continuous quality improvement objectives.

• Follow departmental policies, procedures, and continuous quality improvement objectives
• Operate fabrication equipment as required
• Adhere to all company safety rules and guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 3 years of PVF distribution experience preferred
• Previous SX Enterprise experience preferred but not required
• Point-of-sale computer experience preferred but not required
• Prior forklift experience preferred but not required
